This season Holiday has proven to be a true surprise, emerging out of nowhere into a fairly consistent contributor on the NBA’s top team. But for a player with less than two full NBA seasons of experience and a heading into a playoff run with a heap of expectations, entrusting Holiday with a significant role in the playoffs could end up derailing the Warriors’ championship plans.
Over the course of March, Holiday has seen his minutes decrease significantly, bottoming out with only two minutes played in a 23-point victory over the Memphis Grizzlies last weekend. At the same time, Holiday also displayed his potential in a 23-point effort over the Denver Nuggets less than two weeks prior. In  that however, Holiday was given a rare starring role due to Kerr deciding to rest his starters. When translated to his bench role, it seems that his game doesn’t quite fit into Steve Kerr’s plans going into the postseason and his current trend of minutes played makes it hard to foresee Holiday getting much additional playing time come April.
Verdict: Out.
