Center: Zaza Pachulia

Zaza Pachulia is one of a handful of new faces we will see on the Warriors this season. After the Durant signing, the Warriors were forced to unload a lot of their key guys, including Andrew Bogut, Harrison Barnes, Festus Ezeli, and many other. It seemed like the Warriors were going to be out of luck when it came to finding a decent center to take over Bogut’s role, but as we know, GM Bob Myers is a magician.

Pachulia turned down a two year, nearly $20M offer to sign with the Warriors for just $2.9M. The Warriors clearly got more value than they were expecting, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s not a secret that Pachulia is no Bogut, but he’s definitely more than capable of holding his own, but his 2k rating won’t be a head turner.

Zaza’s 2k rating has steadily gone up by four points each of the past three seasons. The 13 year NBA veteran has never wowed anyone, but his career 7.1 points and six rebounds per game isn’t bad for a guy who has averaged just 21 minutes per game over his career.

Last season Pachulia was a 73 overall in 2k16. After averaging 8.6 points and 9.4 rebounds, I don’t see much of a change coming from him. He definitely isn’t as good of a shot blocker and passer as Bogut but then again, Durant will bring more than enough to hide those aspects.

2k17 rating prediction: 74
