The Golden State Warriors will be resting Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant in the first round of the playoffs, according to  BlueManHoop’s sources.

The Golden State Warriors are probably going to finish the regular season with the top seed. Their magic number is four as the season comes to a close. They have very winnable games over the final stretch.

While the top seed is pretty much locked in, teams are still fighting for that last spot in the playoffs. The Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. The eighth seed is coming down to those two.

It seems that the Warriors aren’t really concerned about opponent. They’re clicking right now and, more importantly, the bench is playing good basketball. That makes it easier for the starters.

When guys like Ian Clark and David West play well, Steph Curry and Draymond Green’s jobs become easier. They’re playing so well that Steve Kerr has decided not to play them. He will be resting his four All-Stars during the first round of the playoffs, according to BlueManHoop’s source Derek “Dion the GOAT” Tahara.

Kerr announced it amidst recent controversy regarding players resting. Many were upset when Golden State decided to keep their stars out of their matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. And, of course, LeBron James is also a center of attention when it comes to rest.

The Warriors don’t believe that they’ll need Curry, Green, Klay Thompson, or Kevin Durant against either team. They think that a rejuvenated Andre Iguodala can carry them to the second round. There’s simply no need to exert the stars any more than they need to.

Golden State will get Durant some regular season reps, but then he’ll get to rest his knee again. For the other four stars, they plan on making another deep playoff run. They want to make sure that they stay fresh for the second round and on.

Expect guys like Patrick McCaw and James Michael McAdoo to play well over 30 minutes each in playoff games against players like Damian Lillard or Jusuf Nurkic. Kerr said he wants the Curry and Green to only focus on John Wall and Bradley Beal. The Warriors’ head coach is ready for the NBA Finals.

The Warriors are playing for June. But we’re just starting April. So April Fool’s Day, #DubNation! Let’s finish this stretch strong and chase that second ring.
