Golden State Warriors: Kyle Korver would be a dream addition
If there is a free agency wish list for the Golden State Warriors, sharpshooter Kyle Korver would certainly be near the top of it.
Without any draft picks and a roster stacked with talent, free agency is where a team like the Golden State Warriors will have to turn their attention to next. The key for the Warriors is going to be keeping their own and then going and rounding out the roster with other talent around the league.

With a roster that’s going to be basically tight on cap space, the Warriors are going to have look for minimum deals once they get their own players signed. Of course, that wasn’t much of an issue last year. Veterans looking to join on with a contender were willing to take less and it ended up with Golden State landing valuable pieces off the bench.
Does the potential exist for that happening again in 2017? Will a free agent that could make more money elsewhere, join on with the Warriors to get that chance at winning an NBA Championship? If there is one dream scenario, it would certainly be Kyle Korver.
Adding one of the deadliest shooters to ever play in the game would give the Warriors more firepower than is even fair. Sure, it’s going to be the longest of shots, as some team is likely going to offer him more than Golden State could probably come close to offering.. Even the Cavaliers are going to have a tough time retaining him with their cap situation.
Korver is going to turn 37 toward the end of next season and while his style of play should allow him to play for a while longer, he could be at that point where he’s ready to chase the ring. If that is the case, Golden State should make a serious play at bringing him in.

Having a lethal shooter off the bench that could blend in with a variety of rotations would give Golden State probably the best shooting roster ever assembled. They already have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant to light it up. Adding Korver to the mix would be almost unfair.
The hope is that Korver has decided that he wants to do whatever it takes to be part of a championship roster at this stage in his career. If that’s the case, then the decision will come down to staying with Cleveland or the Warriors. It’s purely a dream at this point, but it’s certainly a fun one to imagine.
