Derek Carr

Okay, so Stephen Curry technically isn’t hanging out with Derek Carr in this picture, but he did wear his jersey. When Curry’s beloved Panthers visited the bay last year to take on the Oakland Raiders, he decided to go and check out the game.

It was one of the best games of the regular season and the Raiders had a huge victory that was a hallmark for their season. After the game, Curry was a good sport about his team losing to the hometown Raiders and put on the Carr jersey.

Make no mistake about it, with the Raiders on the rise in the AFC and the lead dog in the bay currently, Curry is one of two favorite quarterbacks in town. It had been a while since Oakland had seen a great quarterback and Carr has made them fall in love again.

In many ways, it’s a lot like the excitement that Curry helped bring back to the Oracle Arena on the basketball court. While the Raiders will be on their way to Las Vegas unfortunately for the local crowd, these two will have a short-lived city bond.

That Panther blue might be his favorite, but the two-time MVP looks more like a natural in the black and silver. On that fateful day last fall, Curry learned the lesson that even in football he can’t bet against the bay.
