Golden State Warriors: J.R. Smith says Steph Curry has a better golf swing
The Golden State Warriors’ two-time MVP Stephen Curry has a better golf swing than J.R. Smith according to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ vet himself.
Stephen Curry and J.R. Smith have faced off in each of the last three NBA Finals. While that’s not the sexiest matchup, it’s accurate. With Klay Thompson guarding Kyrie Irving most of the time, Curry finds himself on Smith.

Both guys are incredible shooters. While, of course, Curry is in a class of his own, Smith is no slouch. Curry (10th) recently passed Smith (15th) on the all-time three-pointers list. They can both light it up in a hurry, even with tough defense on them.
These guys are super competitive and that translates to the links as well. The PGA Tour’s official twitter account tweeted out this side by side view of both of their swings.
Smith responded to it, admitted that Curry’s was better.
Curry saw it and responded to it with some perspective on where their game was and where it has gone to.
Curry made his professional golf debut today. He shot well and impressed many people in both the basketball and golf world. He truly is great all around.

The fact that he’s even taking the challenge is commendable. Many athletes are too into themselves to set themselves up for something that will likely go south. It is also bringing a lot of attention and, possibly, money to the tournament that it wouldn’t have otherwise gotten.
Curry and Smith both have pretty good looking swings as far as I can tell. And we can all agree that it is far better than Charles Barkley’s swing. If Curry can continue to play half as well on the golf course as he did in the NBA Finals then maybe he has a shot.
