The Golden State Warriors will be one of eight teams wearing ‘Classic’ jerseys next season. Here’s a first look at what it could potentially be.
The entire Association is getting new duds next season. The NBA’s contract with Adidas ended and it wasn’t renewed. Instead, Nike is taking over.
Nike announced that it would be leaving the traditional “home” and “away” sets of jerseys in the past. Instead, they’re going to have four different styles. That’s not all though.

Eight teams in the league will be adding a fifth uniform style to their arsenal. Some of the squads will be wearing a “Classic” look. This will be Nike’s take on the Hardwood Classics.
Golden State will be among those teams wearing one of these throwback uniforms. The Warriors have been wearing different types of retro jerseys over the last few seasons. They look amazing and they’re a smart business decision because fans can’t get enough of them.
It looks like we might have a sense of what that uniform will look like.
Sportslogos.net originally guessed that the Warriors would be wearing the style from 1971-75. Rick Barry and the Warriors won a championship in the iconic uniforms. They came in yellow and blue, featured a silhouette of California, and said “Golden State” across the top.
It looks like they were close, but slightly off. A tweet from user @phredoq suggests that the original report was a decade early. The Warriors could be wearing the jerseys that the team donned from 1984-87.
The picture shows the corresponding shorts with the Nike swoosh. It can be assumed that, if they were to wear those bottoms, the tops would be the white ones that say “Warriors” across the top instead of Golden State. The Calfornia silhouette is still present.

The Warriors, to the best of my knowledge, haven’t worn these as throwbacks. These have only made an appearance during the Sleepy Floyd era. This would be a very cool throwback for the Dubs, especially if they get the court to match.
Still, this is all early and unconfirmed. Stay tuned for more updates.
