The Houston Rockets feel they can compete with the Golden State Warriors. Can they really make some noise?

The narrative over the summer for the Golden State Warriors has consistently been whether or not the rest of the league can catch up to them. By now, we know all the moves and what teams are trying to do as they chase down the champions.

The Houston Rockets perhaps made the biggest move, when they acquired Chris Paul. As the season draws near, the Rockets are putting in the work to be that team that can take on Golden State.

James Harden feels, just as he should, that they can compete with the Warriors. Speaking with ESPN (via The Houston Chronicle), Harden mentioned that he and Chris Paul are on the same page with each other and they both know what the one goal is. That goal of course being to take down the Warriors.

“We both have the same goal. We’re both trying to win. There’s one team (the Warriors) out there that’s winning. They’ve been to the Finals three years in a row.

They won two out of three. One team to compete against. One team to try to go get. We’re both on the same page with that.”

His statement here isn’t unlike what we have heard from the Rockets this offseason. The team has given Golden State their credit while maintaining that they are coming for them. This is nothing new for the Warriors, as every contender is loading up to give them a run.

The history between Houston and Golden State has been seen plenty in the playoffs recently. They didn’t meet this past year, but they seem primed to do battle again next playoffs if all falls as it should. As the season gets closer, more stories like this are going to arise. Confidence is at a high for everyone this time of the year. That being said, it all changes when they go nose to nose with the champs.
