Blue Man Hoop, the FanSided Network’s flagship Golden State Warriors site, is actively seeking to add a new batch of enthusiastic, creative, young writers willing to consistently contribute to the site.

When I first started at Blue Man Hoop in 2015, I never imagined that I’d one day be given the opportunity to be present at the Stephen Curry media availability at the Golden State Warriors practice facility.

I never would have thought I’d one day have Zaza Pachulia standing over me while I was in the middle of interviewing Klay Thompson, or that I’d find myself standing next to Shaun Livingston, Draymond Green or even talking Dubs with Mistah Fab.

For me, small moments like that — no matter how seemingly minuscule a situation it may seem — continues to be the driving force behind everything I accomplish. It’s experiencing those kinds of moments that help validate the reasons behind why I continue to do what I do.

And the main reason has always been quite simple: to give the average Warriors fan a platform with which they could personally relate to in the most direct way possible.

Unlike some of the mainstream media, I don’t try to chase stories, dig up irrelevant dirt or try to blow stories out of proportion for clicks. Unlike some of the other blogs out there, I don’t judge you or exclude you based on where you’re from, what you rep, who you are or even what you may have done in the distant past.

Whether you’re a long time fanatic or a fan that just recently began following the team, I want to read what you have to say. Whether you’ve played college ball or just play recreationally, I want the people to know exactly what goes through your mind when you watch the Warriors play.

And I think it’s important now more than ever that we understand that everyone deserves a voice. Everyone deserves to be heard. Now that I’m a co-expert at Blue Man Hoop, I want you to give me a chance to make that happen.

Because I personally want to hear about how the Warriors have benefitted your life or someone else in your life. I want to hear about how the Warriors continue to be an inspiration. I want to hear about how long you’ve waited to see them at the top, why you became a fan in the first place and who’s your favorite player of all time.

I want to read about how they’re taking over Silicon Valley or how you feel about the new Chase Center in San Francisco. I wanna know what you expect from this season or what you predict may happen. I wanna know what the Warriors are doing in regards to political activism, gender equality and overall community improvement.

And I’m 100% sure someone else out there wants to hear those stories too. I would try to write those stories myself, but frankly, I’m just not that good at writing those kinds of pieces. I do know, however, that some of you reading this are insanely good at telling those kinds of stories and really capturing the essence of the story, and I want you on my staff.

It doesn’t pay anything, so I certainly understand why that would be a bit off-putting. It’s sad to acknowledge that most journalism doesn’t pay very well at all.

But I never did it for the money, and to the unfortunate disappointment of many of my friends and family, I still don’t. Journalism is one of the highest forms of art, and I want to give each and every one of you the best opportunity to express yourselves with as much creative freedom as possible.

For everyone still writing in the comments, on forums or on Twitter: join the staff at Blue Man Hoop. Write about what you feel every fan should be aware of. Express yourself in a way you’ve never had the opportunity to do so. Be okay with being different and having a different opinion or perspective.

And most importantly, be proud of who you are, your voice and what you believe in. Be proud of the work that you may yet accomplish with me and the rest of our staff.

Because like me, you may yet find yourself one day in the Warriors practice facility sitting in on Stephen Curry’s media availability, actually recording the video instead of just watching it on your phone.

By no means am I saying that’s exactly what’s going to happen, but trust me when I say that the possibilities are endless with me in your corner. Take chances, make mistakes, and put yourself out there.

That’s exactly the kind of life experience I want for you — the kind of life experience I would want for my kids — and you’ll never really know how far you can get until you apply to join the staff.

We’re currently slated to have our best year ever, so please come and be a part of the Blue Man Hoop family.
