Santa Cruz Warriors lose to Agua Caliente Clippers 104-89 at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Tuesday.
The Santa Cruz Warriors, G League affiliate of the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors, just simply didn’t have the firepower Tuesday night at Citizens Business Bank Area, losing to the Agua Caliente Clippers 104-89.
Having lost to the South Bay Lakers 125-101 last Sunday at the UCLA Health Training Center, the Sea Dubs seemed primed for a bounce back game against the 18-23 Clippers. Surf City got out to a great start with a 25-22 first quarter, and things appeared to be looking up.
Unfortunately, the Clippers quickly answered with a 30-22 second quarter to take a 52-47 lead at halftime. Things continued to get out of hand in the third after Santa Cruz was limited to just 19 points, allowing Agua Caliente to establish an 11-point lead.
The Sea Dubs continued to fight, pulling within six points in the middle of the fourth. Sadly, they ran out of steam near the end, failing to get enough stops on the defensive end to successfully pull off a comeback victory.

Santa Cruz has lost their last three contests, dropping their regular season record to 19-20. With just a little under a month left, it would take a miracle for the shorthanded Sea Dubs to get back into playoff contention.
They’ll return home to Kaiser Permanente Arena to host the Northern Arizona Suns on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. PST.
