Warriors Will Try to Extend Series Lead in San Antonio

The Warriors head to San Antonio with a 2-0 series lead after dominant performances in Games 1 and 2 in Oracle Arena.
The Warriors limped into the postseason losing six of their last ten games and carrying some major injuries into the playoffs.
Golden State had no trouble “flipping the switch” in Game 1 with a comfortable 113-92 win, and a second half surge in Game 2 helped them secure another double-digit victory 116-101.
Steve Kerr’s decision to start Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and JaVale McGee together has provided the spark the Warriors needed after a long and grueling regular season.
Gregg Popovich made a lineup change of his own in Game 2 replacing Kyle Anderson with Rudy Gay in the starting five. The Spurs held a six-point halftime lead thanks in part to that adjustment, but 30-point performances from Klay and KD kept San Antonio from picking up a road win.
San Antonio has played much better at home all season long, and I’d expect that to continue that trend in the playoffs. They had a home record of 33-8, which will make it difficult for the Warriors to take two games at the AT&T Center to complete the sweep.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Spurs won a close one in Game 3 with the support of their home crowd. However, the Warriors are determined to get to the second round as quickly as possible and had an outstanding record of 29-12 on the road in the regular season.
Game 3 is sure to be the most competitive game of the series thus far.
