Kendrick Nunn helped lead the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League squad to a win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Las Vegas on Friday.

Don’t sleep on Kendrick Nunn!

The 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Oakland University (Michigan) scored a game-high 18 points for the Golden State Warriors on Friday, opening the 2018 MGM Resorts Las Vegas Summer League with a narrow 77-71 GSW win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Friday night’s game was just the first of three scheduled preliminary contests for the Dubs. They’ll play again on Sunday, June 9 against the Houston Rockets, followed by a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, July 9.

Considering how this win is just their most recent in a string of Summer League victories, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dubs end up with the first seed in the Vegas tournament starting July 11.

They don’t want Nunn!

Along with his 18 points, Nunn added seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 27 minutes. He shot 5-of-10 from the field (50.0 percent), 4-of-7 from behind the arc (57.1 percent) and 4-of-6 from the free throw line (66.7 percent).

Point guard Josh Magette was the only other Warriors player to finish in double-digit scoring, recording 10 points and four assists on 3-of-9 shooting from the field (33.3 percent), 2-of-4 shooting from long range and 2-of-2 shooting from the charity stripe.

After being held out of the team’s last game of the California Classic Summer League in Sacramento on Thursday, Jordan Bell dropped in six points (3-8 FG), 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocks in 28 minutes.

Damian Jones also appeared in Friday’s game after resting on Thursday, posting nine points (3-7 FG, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and one block in 19 minutes of play.

Warriors rookie Jacob Evans played 23 minutes against the Clippers despite reportedly getting a bit “bruised up” after playing against the Los Angeles Lakers the day before, tallying seven points and four rebounds on 3-of-12 shooting (25.0 percent).
