Golden State Warriors fans may not know much about Josh Magette, but he played a large role on this year’s Summer League squad.

The Golden State Warriors had a few players on their Summer League roster with some NBA experience under their belt, including Josh Magette.

Magette played in 18 games for the Hawks last season logging 12 minutes per game scoring 2.6 points per night.

The former Alabama-Huntsville product made his NBA debut at age 28, and he’s looking to land some sort of two-way contract for next season.

Magette played in all three games for the Warriors in the Sacramento Summer League where Golden State went 3-0.

More from Blue Man Hoop

He played 33 minutes per night scoring 7.3 points with 2.3 assists and 2 steals per game in Sacramento. Magette shot 8/22 from the field during those three games.

Magette joined the team in Las Vegas as well playing 25.8 minutes per night appearing in all four games.

Magette scored 7 points per game with 3.8 assists and 2 rebounds per night in Vegas and shot 11/33 from the floor.

Magette is known as a three-point specialist, but he didn’t score particularly well during the Warriors’ Summer League schedule. At age 28, Magette has significantly less upside than many of the other players on Golden State’s Summer League roster.

Magette didn’t show much ability distributing the ball, and at just over 6-feet tall he doesn’t really have the tools to be a good defender.

There’s a possibility that Magette could find his way onto the Santa Cruz Warriors’ G League roster, but I doubt Golden State’s front office was super impressed with his performance during this year’s Summer League schedule.
