Kevin Durant has gotten into some internet beef yet again, and this time it’s with Blazers guard C.J. McCollum.

Kevin Durant recently made an appearance on Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum’s podcast entitled the Pull Up after McCollum agreed to travel to New York City for the interview, and the conversation created some headlines.

The conversation included a discussion on the biggest story of the offseason surrounding the Warriors, which was their recent signing of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins.

McCollum had the same reaction as most of the internet on the night of the signing when Golden State added another All-Star to a roster that had already won three championships in four years.

McCollum told KD that he was “hot” when he found out about the Cousins signing. And Durant responded by defending the Warriors making a move to make their team better.

"McCollum: You know how I felt, bruh, I was hot.Durant: Why are you mad about this stuff?McCollum: Bruh, I’m in the league. I’m in the Western Conference. I gotta play you m’fers all the time anyway as it is, over and over again.Durant: You know you guys aren’t gonna win a championship.McCollum: Bro, we have the team.(Durant started laughing here.)McCollum: We have the team, we have the capabilities, anything is possible. We can win a championship bro.Durant: I mean let’s be honest. I like ya’ll two (McCollum and Damian Lillard), you’re hard to stop. But I mean, come on. You can’t be upset about this.McCollum: I can be upset because Cuz was a free agent. He could have came to Portland. Why you gotta go there, Cuz? And I text him. I was mad. I got on Twitter.Durant (laughing): Get out your feelings. I suggest you just keep playing man and don’t worry about what goes on at the top of things.McCollum: We right there at the top of things.Durant: Relax.McCollum: We were the third seed last year. Some unfortunate things happened in the first round.Durant: How’d you play? Like an 8 seed (laughing) you know I’m only saying this because you be shooting little shots at the Warriors and at me all the time, so this is my time to throw a little jab at you."

There’s a lot to unpack in this podcast conversation.

First off, C.J. McCollum shouldn’t be upset about the Warriors improving their roster. Every single team in the league should be trying to increase their chances to win a championship, and that’s exactly what Golden State did with this move.

Secondly, Durant probably shouldn’t have been quite so condescending to McCollum on his own podcast. I understand that KD has been upset with C.J.’s commentary on the Warriors over the last couple years, but those types of comments were obviously going to get a rise out of McCollum.

The argument spilled over to Twitter when McCollum took a shot at Durant over his decision to join the Warriors in 2016.

KD will probably never hear the end of the criticism regarding that decision, and when it’s a fellow NBA player who makes these comments he’s well within his rights to reply to him.

McCollum is obviously jealous of the Warriors’ position in the league, and he would love to play on a team as talented as Golden State.

While Durant’s Tweet was a totally acceptable response last night, I really wish he would stay off of social media for a while and stop getting in these internet arguments. Just sip some champagne in between your two NBA Finals MVP trophies and enjoy your success before it’s time to get to work on that three-peat.
