Warriors: Best Defensive Players in Golden State History
By Andrew Ites
3. Robert Parish
The top of this list is littered with dominant big men, beginning with Robert Parish.
Parish is remembered most for his time with the Celtics, but he began his Hall of Fame career in Golden State after being drafted by the Warriors in 1976.
Parish played the first four years of his career in Golden State where he blocked 1.8 shots and swiped 1 steal per game.
Parish’s best defensive year with the Warriors was his third NBA season in which he blocked 2.9 shots per game with 1.3 steals and 8.6 rebounds per night.
Golden State’s defense ranked second in opponents points per game that season with Parish dominating in the middle.
Parish’s defensive dominance earned him a spot among the Warriors’ greats.
