The NBA was changed forever on July 4th, 2016, when Kevin Durant decided to leave Oklahoma City in favor of a move to Golden State.
The signing of Durant gave the Warriors two MVP’s and two other All-Stars in the prime of their careers.
KD also took a fairly significant pay cut in his first Golden State contract to ensure that the front office could re-sign some key veterans like Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala.
Durant has scored 25.7 points per game in two seasons as a Warrior with 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per night. And he’s been extremely efficient with a true shooting percentage of 64.5% in Golden State.
The Warriors were already the best team in the league before the acquisition of KD, but they’ve become a bonafide dynasty since his arrival.
The two-time Finals MVP has taken this team to the next level, and he will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
