5. Mark Jackson

Mark Jackson may be a controversial name on this list as many Warriors fans believe the team underachieved during his tenure.

However, you’d be hard-pressed to find any coaches that deserve to be ahead of Jackson since the Warriors moved to the West Coast in 1962.

Golden State went 121-109 for a regular season winning percentage of 52.6% under Mark Jackson, and they went 9-10 in the postseason from 2011-14.

The Warriors made the playoffs twice in Jackson’s three seasons and won one playoff series.

While Golden State enjoyed some success under Jackson, It’s easy to see why he was relieved of his duties after three years.

He failed to adapt to the modern game, and preferred to give Jermaine O’Neal post-ups rather than letting the Splash Brothers run the offense.

However, Golden State had one postseason appearance in 17 seasons before hiring Mark Jackson, and he helped turn the Warriors into a perennial playoff team.
