Reason No. 3: Neither side has a better option

The Golden State Warriors don’t need Nick Young, and Nick Young doesn’t need to be a Golden State Warrior. However, Golden State has one more roster spot to fill and could certainly use another scoring option.

Meanwhile, for Young, the market is dry. He might be able to get a few more million from a team like Sacramento, but ultimately, his best move will be to re-sign with the Dubs. It’s a good match moving forward.

For Young, he’s getting to the stage in his career where he’ll want to be on championship-caliber teams. As long as he’s contributing to some extent, there should be a certain level of contentment from Young’s standpoint.

For Golden State, there are only a few remaining targets that could match Young’s production. Apparently, they tossed out an offer to Jamal Crawford yet failed to reel him in, making Young’s addition would be even more ideal.

Outside of Crawford, the market for veteran forwards isn’t what it typically is.
