What are the qualifications of a “challenger” to the Warriors?

The Warriors will have some worthy opponents next season, but the question is: What exactly constitutes a challenger?

To put it simply, these are teams that are equipped to prevent from the Warriors from winning an NBA title. That means teams in the Western Conference are eligible for this list because if a team in the West beats the Warriors in the playoffs, the Warriors will not be able to win the title.

Obviously, Eastern Conference teams are also eligible for this list since they are capable of beating the Warriors in the NBA Finals, but a team in the East has to be good enough to make it to the Finals.

That said, a unique and limited amount of teams will make the list. And, for the sake of argument, each team has a decent chance to make it all the way and de-throne Golden State. While unlikely, there is a chance.
