Steph Curry

While he may not be ranked the top overall player on this current Golden State team, Stephen Curry is undoubtedly the franchise MVP and holds the number two spot on the Warriors rankings.

Fresh off his third championship ring, Curry will look to help lead this squad to a three-peat, something this league hasn’t seen since the early 2000s.

Coming into his 10th NBA season, the league already knows how dangerous Curry is on the court with and without the ball. He’s liable to have a breakout game at any moment while at the same time making his teammates around him better. His elite ball handling skills allow him to create a shot in even the most difficult situations.

His tendency to hit the three from near half-court forces opponents to play outside. Perhaps most important, his mere presence forces the defense to naturally draw to him, leaving ideal spacing for his teammates (especially the number one player on this list) to get off a great scoring opportunity.

As was evident last year, what’ll be key for Stephen Curry in 2018 is the ability to stay healthy throughout the course of the regular season and into the playoffs. Curry has managed to stay relatively healthy the past couple of years, but last season the ankle issues started to rear its ugly head.

Look for Steph and the coaching staff to play it safe and ensure he’s ready to go come late April for another Finals run and possibly snag his first Finals MVP along the way. -PH
