Golden State Warriors: 15 best sharpshooters of all-time
Stephen Curry has become the blueprint for what 3-point shooters want to be in the NBA. He’s shattered records held by Reggie Miller and Ray Allen on his way to building quite the legacy in the NBA. From 2012-17, he has led the league in 3-point field goals made, setting a new career-high with each season. Although in 2016-17, his production dropped with the addition of Kevin Durant.
He’s led the league in 3-pointers made in five of his nine seasons in the league. He holds the record for most 3-pointers made in a regular season in franchise history with 402 during the 2015-16 season. Curry shot 45.4 percent from behind the arc that year.
Curry hasn’t made less than 212 3-pointers in the regular season since recording 272 makes during the 2012-13. He currently ranks first in franchise history with 2,129 3-pointers made and should go down as the best shooter in Warriors history.
He made a career-high 13 3-pointers against the New Orleans Pelicans in a 116-106 victory back on Nov. 7 ,2016. Curry finished with 46 points on 13-of-17 shooting from 3-point land and 16-of-26 (61.5 percent) from the field.
During the 2012-13 season, he scored a career-high 54 points on 11-of-13 shooting (84.6 percent) from 3-point range against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. It’s no wonder he’s taken home two league MVP awards, a scoring title (2015-16) and three NBA titles in the last four seasons.
He’s created quite the legacy for himself and it doesn’t look like the team is slowing down with the recent acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins.
