Forward Harrison Barnes has become quite the afterthought since the addition of Kevin Durant. It’s hard to deny his body of work though when he was a member of the Warriors. He currently ranks 15th all-time in 3-pointers made in franchise history (287) during his four-year stint.

From 2013-16, the expectations continued to rise for Barnes as one of Golden State’s 3-point weapons. The former seventh overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of North Carolina was quite the marksman from behind the arc, shooting 37.6 percent from 3-point land across four seasons.

As a member of the Warriors, he made a career-high five 3-pointers on multiple occasions. During the 2014-15 season, he went 5-for-5 from 3-point range against Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder back on Jan. 5, 2015 in a 117-91 victory. That year, he shot a career-high 40.5 percent from behind the arc while making a season-high 87 3-pointers.

During the team’s first run to an NBA title, Barnes proved to be a key piece in the starting rotation. In the end, he got an NBA title and it allowed him to test free agency at the end of his rookie deal.

His body of work ultimately earned him a big contract offer in free agency from the Dallas Mavericks. He’s entering the third season with the Mavericks, long an afterthought to the franchise thanks to the contributions of their new Big Three. He’s learning to be a bigger option now and his 3-point shooting continues to improve.
