Golden State Warriors: Projecting the depth chart at each position
Power Forward
Draymond Green
Draymond Green is the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors. An All-Star each of the last three seasons, he’s become a much-needed part of their offense and defensive. Averaging over seven points, rebounds and assists last season, he’s certainly proven his worth.
However, is he worthy of the supermax? If Green jumps through a few hurdles this season, he’d be eligible for the supermax contract during the 2020 offseason. That’ll strap the Dubs financially for quite some time, but is it worth it?
Jonas Jerebko
The Dubs signed Jonas Jerebko to a one-year deal this offseason.
Jerebko hasn’t made too much noise in the NBA after suffering a career-altering Achilles injury his second season in the league. A similar injury to Boogie Cousins, Jerebko has found a way to become a solid second unit player in the league.
He can shoot, making 0.9 threes per game last season, and, at 6-foot-10, has the height to play down low as well. It’ll be interesting to see how Kerr uses Jerebko to help fill out their thin power forward position.
