A superior superteam arising

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have limited timelines for their up-and-coming dynasties. Both teams have numerous players that have ascended into stardom still on their rookie contracts.

That said, in the next few years, if those players rise to the top of their respective positions, they could combine with their veterans to take down the Dubs without the Dubs splitting up.

Take LA for example.

If Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard or any superstar feels empowered to take their talents to the Lakers, the Lake Show, with James leading the way, would have two superstars and then Kuzma, Ingram and Ball all on rookie contracts.

That’s a lethal five. Considering Boston’s young core is even better than LA’s, it’s scary to think what could be if they’re able to keep it all together. However, for Boston, they’ll at least be forced to pay Terry Rozier next offseason which could lead to him going elsewhere.

There are obstacles in retaining top talent, and the combination of young, cheap talent with skilled veterans could be the one to slow down the Dubs.
