Joe Johnson

Spending a part of last season with the Houston Rockets, many thought that’d be it for Joe Johnson. However, the veteran wants to play one more season yet is currently without a team.

How else better to end you career than with a ring? He can pull a David West and join the Dubs to end a stellar career. Johnson’s been in the league 17 years and has been a force off the bench for the last few seasons.

Per 36 minutes, Johnson’s been able to maintain pretty solid numbers. While last season was the first time he dipped under 10 points per 36 minutes, scoring just 9.9, he still proved to be a capable scorer and quality backup point guard.

He saw minutes in the Western Conference Finals when the Rockets were without superstar Chris Paul. Giving quality minutes, Johnson’s age showed in his effectiveness. He wasn’t his form All-Star-like self, but he was exactly what Houston needed.

For Golden State, he could play that same role. Seek limited minutes as the Dubs backup shooting guard. The second unit playmaking role is where he can thrive, and in Golden State, it’d be difficult for Johnson not to be successful.
