Golden State Warriors: Steve Kerr ‘comfortable’ with post-deadline roster

The Golden State Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr does not seem worried about the moves made by any Eastern Conference team at the trade deadline.

Steve Kerr, the Golden State Warriors’ world-class head coach, said he feels ‘comfortable’ with his roster, per Mark Medina of The Mercury News.

This statement comes after numerous trades on both Wednesday and Thursday. While none of the Western Conference’s top teams tried to close the gap, the Eastern Conference was made significantly better.

Tobias Harris to the Sixers and Marc Gasol to the Raptors are the two most impactful moves made. Although Kerr would have to face just one of these teams in the postseason, he seemed very confident his roster would still prevail.

At this point, it’d shock the world if the Warriors didn’t three-peat.

They are the Golden State Warriors. This offseason, they secured a fifth star, already possessions two of the league’s top players. The first two picks in the All-Star Draft line their starting lineup, all five of their starters being selected to the 2018 All-Star Game.

So, yes, Kerr should feel comfortable with his lineup. His lineup could be considered the best of all time. What he’ll really have to work on is the development of his second unit. The Warriors second unit is one of the lowest scoring in the game.

Although they recently recalled first-round pick Jacob Evans III, the Dubs will likely target the buyout market candidates. There should be an array of players bought out. Players like Marcin Gortat and Jeremy Lin could headline the buyout market.

That’s where the Dubs can do their magic. Just like many teams in the past, the Warriors can fill out their roster with those players. Possessing a high level of star power and still being able to fill in the gaps should leave Kerr sleeping well at night knowing his roster is the best in the league.

This is the year of the three-peat, and the Dubs, regardless of their opponent’s moves, should pull it off.
