Golden State Warriors: “Buy or Sell” with 10 potential NBA Free Agents
By Tony Pesta
6. Rudy Gay (Buy)
The Golden State Warriors are in desperate need of some bench depth. The most ideal pickups would be veteran wing players that have played at a high level for most of their career’s and are ready to take on a reserve role with a championship competing team. Does this sound like Rudy Gay to you?
Rudy made waves in his early days by being an athletic monster. As he grew older, he expanded his game to where he is now. A solid defender and a shot creator at all levels, Gay is ready to help a team win a title.
With the San Antonio Spurs last season, Gay averaged 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He was consistent, but most importantly, he played nearly 30 minutes per game, proving he is still capable of carrying a load.
This signing would be huge for the Warriors. Regardless of if they keep Kevin Durant or Klay Thompson, they will need someone to replace them for most of the season as both stars are recovering from longterm injuries. Gay is a great option for this.
