Golden State Warriors: Ranking the team’s top 25 options in free agency
Derrick Rose
The former MVP turned back the clock last season. Including a 50-point performance, Rose snapped out of his post-ACL injury slump and returned to as close to his MVP-level self as possible.
That said, if Rose is available for the MLE, it’d be huge for Golden State. Rose is banged up and can’t quite be trusted to stay on the court, but he certainly does help supplement the scoring hole that Thompson and Durant’s absence creates.
Last season, Rose averaged 18.0 points per game on 48% from the field and 37% from downtown. However, the notable number for Rose is his mere 1.6 turnovers per game, showcasing how well he protected the ball while in Minnesota.
Rose needs to find NBA success once again. He can in Golden State. After making over $21 million to then signing the minimum, it’s unknown how much Rose will be requesting in potentially the last offseason where he’ll have true value.
