DeAndre Jordan — Update: Is expected to sign with Brooklyn

A close friend of Kevin Durant’s, DeAndre Jordan could serve multiple purposes for the Golden Stae Warriors. For starters, he’d be a great replacement to DeMarcus Cousins and one that Draymond Green would thrive playing alongside.

Jordan finished out last season with the New York Knicks and is set to be a top-15 free agent this offseason. However, given his likelihood to sign with Golden State and their chance to retain Kevon Looney, bringing in Jordan doesn’t seem extremely probable.

Down significantly from his time in LA, Jordan needs a pass-first point guard to be at his best. While Curry isn’t that, his vision is certainly better than most. The same can be said of Green. Ultimately, the race for Jordan may be a financial one.

He took almost $23 million to play in New York last season, his third-straight season of making over $20 million. He’s going to be in free agency for the bag, and there will be a team that gives him it, almost crushing any chance of the 7-footer to the Bay.
