Draymond Green

After being injured in the first quarter and returning just minutes later, Draymond Green, with a bandage around his elbow, played a solid game. He did his usual thing, but he must do it at a greater volume this season.

More from Blue Man Hoop

For Green, this season is all about dialing back the clock.

The three-time All-Star ended with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Better yet, he had zero turnovers, was perfect from the line and made a three. It’s not that he was overly terrible to start the season.

And, last year, that line was acceptable.

Last year, that’s all they needed from Green. They didn’t need his scoring and playmaking to win. In order to rattle off victories this year, they’ll need almost double that. In 28 minutes of play, Green must do more.

When he was aggressive, Green looked incredible. He looked like he could be one of the offensive leaders of this team, but that Green must come to play on every offensive possession. It’d also be nice for Green to consistently make threes but that may be asking too much.

For now, Green wasn’t the worst on the court, but the Warriors need more from the 28-year-old entering his eighth professional season.
