Los Angeles Lakers

The Pacific’s best team behind the league’s best defense is the Los Angeles Lakers. The Anthony Davis-led defense combined with the LeBron James-led offense has created a dynamic that cannot be matched.

It’s more than that though. The Lakers have built their roster to thrive on the defensive end. JaVale McGee, Avery Bradley, and Danny Green, three players known for their defensive aptitude, were signed this offseason.

The Lakers didn’t thrive in their season opener against the Clippers, one of the few blemishes on their resume. At 7-2, the Lakers have been in and closed several close games, and they’re starting to find their rhythm.

Leading the league in blocks and top ten in steals, LA is a force on the defensive end. Surprisingly, with James on their roster, they also rank just 20th in points per game. Cleaning that up and being more efficiently offensive is where LA must improve.

Tune back in next week to see if the Pacific power ranking change.
