3. D’Angelo Russell is a scoring machine

There were question marks about how good D’Angelo Russell really was coming into this year. No one was sure if he could be the star on a championship-caliber team.

Through the early part of the season, Russell has squashed the doubters.

He has been absolutely brilliant scoring the ball, displaying an array of maneuvers that include floaters in the lane, nifty ball-handling, and a very reliable three-point shot.

D-Lo was on fire in the first quarter against the Jazz:

Russell has averaged 26 points per game on a respectable 45% from the field, even better considering opposing defenses can throw the kitchen sink at him with few other true scoring threats on the roster.

If he didn’t have the attention of his peers in the league, he surely got it after dropping a career-high 52-points against Minnesota.

Whatever the Dubs choose to do with Russell, keep him or trade him, his stock is skyrocketing and he has proven to be an elite-level scorer that could be a key piece to their future or a desired asset that could fetch a big haul in a trade.
