1. Trade the pick

Rather than betting on a player in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors could trade the pick and attempt to acquire a more experienced asset.

The Dubs have a strict financial situation but will be granted a bit of leeway due to Andre Iguodala‘s $17 million dollar trade exception. Combine this with a potentially high pick in the upcoming draft and the Warriors have some solid trade options.

At the top of their list should be Marcus Smart. Smart is a versatile combo guard that can defend multiple positions and handle the ball. Prying him away from the Boston Celtics would take a sizeable package but it is possible.

Another good option is Dennis Schroeder. The crafty guard has had a career-year in OKC and will be of great value to the Dubs. Seeing as how the Thunder are in the playoff picture but still looking to rebuild, they might be a perfect target to bait with a draft pick.

Regardless of who the Warriors manage to trade for, shipping this pick might be the best option. So long as they can acquire a reliable role player, the Warriors will feel more confident in themselves rather than trusting a rookie to perform in a deep playoff run.
