The Bleacher Report-crafted proposal

With the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Warriors ….. trade it for Marcus Smart. That’s according to the Bleacher Report NBA Fantasy League. The Warriors would then get the third overall pick in the draft as well.

Somehow Smart is brought in from the Hawks, so that’d have to be sorted out as well. Currently on the Celtics, Smart would go through some type of deal before landing himself on the Warriors. However, this trade would make sense for all parties.

Here’s the full deal.

The Warriors, in this scenario, still get their desired players. With LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards the two likely top picks in the coming draft, the Warriors could add James Wiseman and Marcus Smart.

Instantly a Finals threat with those two, the Warriors would add frontcourt size and an elite perimeter defender. If this happened, Warriors’ fans should immediately praise general manager Bob Myers.
