The Golden State Warriors will be waiting until August 25 to officially know which pick they’ll have in the 2020 NBA Draft.

With the NBA suspended since March and no return date in sight for the bulk of that time, the Golden State Warriors’ fanbase was immersing themselves in draft content.

While they could consider trading the pick, chances are they’ll at least let the lottery play out before looking to deal it. As many recall, they traded it to Brooklyn this past offseason but put a top-20 protection on it, something they’re certainly grateful for.

That said, we now know what that lottery will be, after initially being pushed back from it’s original May date. After approval of the return to play, the league also scheduled its NBA Draft Lottery, and that is set to take place on August 25.

This entire schedule will seem extremely fast-paced, and to be fair, it is. The league will return to play very late July and the draft will take place in late October. When next season will start is still up in the air but it seems a potential Christmas Day start is possible.

The 22-team resume to play is meant to give contending teams a chance to continue their quest towards the last seed in the playoffs. Sadly, the Warriors were nowhere near close to competing for it as they’re 15-50, the worst record in the NBA.

Who should Golden State pick if they win the lottery?

As for the draft, we don’t truly know who the Warriors have atop their big board. They’re reportedly said to be high on James Wiseman, and a few months before that, they also claimed to not be high on him.

There are also players like Killian Hayes and Obi Toppin that could be intriguing options for the Dubs.
