Warriors: Klay Thompson thinks Giannis’ Bucks will win 2020 NBA Finals
The Milwaukee Bucks over the Los Angeles Clippers is what Warriors’ star Klay Thompson is going with for his 2020 NBA Finals prediction.
Klay Thompson might not have taken the court last season, but he’s still craving basketball. To many’s surprise, the Orlando restart has been exciting and brought in fans from all over, even those from teams like the Golden State Warriors who weren’t invited after a 15-win season.
One of the only reasons the Warriors struggled so much was because Klay Thompson missed the entire season with a torn ACL, an injury he sustained in the 2019 NBA Finals. That was the Warriors’ fifth straight appearance so this rest was likely welcome for Thompson.
Still connected to what’s going on in the league, Thompson is picking the Milwaukee Bucks, who finished the season with the NBA’s best record, over the LA Clippers, the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
“I think it will be Bucks over Clippers in seven games,” Thompson said.
Thompson single-handedly knows the power of Milwaukee.
While they have their doubters, Thompson is not one. Last season, the Warriors took on the Bucks twice, winning one by 10 and losing one by 23, a performance in which three Bucks scored 20 or more points. Thompson ended with a team-high 24.
Thompson isn’t the only Warrior still keeping tabs on the league during its restart. Stephen Curry recently tweeted to the Phoenix Suns, praising them for allowing a player’s family to introduce them in the starting lineup.
That said, given the drastic measures being taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19, I think everyone can agree that this restart has been a tremendous success. We’ve seen teams turn their season around and have felt some drama and excitement from the early seeding games.
With the playoff commencing soon, we’ll get to find out in the next few months of Klay Thompson’s prediction is spot on or not. The Lakers, Bucks, and Clippers are entering as the favorites to take home the Larry O’Brien trophy.
