League insiders still think the Golden State Warriors will trade their No. 2 overall pick. Here are the three most likely players they’d coupled with it in a deal.

The Golden State Warriors control their own destiny next season. While they may not have a roster that could compete for an NBA Finals right now, they certainly have the assets to build one with two high-value picks at their disposal.

That’s if they don’t feel their current roster, which has a two-time MVP and a five-time All-Star on it, can compete at that level as the West has improved since their playoff run in 2019.

The Warriors more than likely feel they only need a few pieces of the puzzle to contend even in the West.

Golden State does not need a Joel Embiid-like star. They can swing for the fences with Giannis Antetokounmpo, or they can couple their No. 2 pick with their trade exception and another player to potentially bring in Aaron Gordon or Marcus Smart.

The options will be endless.

While league insiders may believe the Dubs will trade the pick, there haven’t been too many reports on who they may target. The package the Warriors give up heavily relies on who they’re bringing back.

With young up-and-coming prospects and All-Star veterans, the Warriors have a good mix of talent.
