Pros

If the Golden State Warriors choose to trade Andrew Wiggins, it will likely be because they found a team ready to ship a star in return. Finding a true star to pair with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson would make everybody feel more confident in the Dubs’ chances of winning another title.

On the other hand, the Warriors could trade Wiggins for a collection of assets. This could be future picks or veterans who are readily available to make a deep playoff run. Filling out some gaps in this roster by cashing in Wiggins could be a good move.

At the least, the Warriors could look to clear some cap space by moving off of Wiggins’ contract immediately and taking on an expiring player for the season. This could help them gain some wiggle room for the future and allow them the freedom to sign players they think could benefit them the most.

Wiggins is a risky player for a team with championship aspirations to rely on. He hasn’t proven much in his career and could disappear when the Dubs need him most. As a result, trading him for a more trustworthy prospect sounds like a solid idea.
