Cons

Trading Andrew Wiggins this offseason removes the chance of Golden State revitalizing the former No. 1 overall picks’ career. Wiggins is still young and has the tools to be a star – the Warriors might be the perfect environment to maximize his potential.

Wiggins is a natural scorer with fluid athleticism and mechanics. On paper, he should be an All-Star at this point in his career. Yet, he felt like a non-factor in his first few seasons in Minnesota. Perhaps playing under a winning franchise can be the catalyst for change.

Last season, Wiggins averaged 21.8 points per game – the second-highest average of his career. It’s possible he can thrive in a reduced role with the Warriors as he no longer faces the immense pressure of being a top-guy in Minnesota.

Finally, it might be more difficult than fans think to trade Wiggins in the first place. His contract is way above his skill level and might not be appealing to other teams. There is no sense in trading Wiggins if the return for him won’t be high.
