The Golden State Warriors are a team that has had most of the trade talks this off-season. With the number two overall pick, they are expected to make a trade before the start of the season.

The Golden State Warriors have been surrounded by trade rumors since the night of the draft lottery. When it was confirmed that the Warriors had the second overall pick in the draft, other teams knew that they would be willing to trade it away.

This specific trade scenario would send a former all-star to a team people have not been talking about. Let’s start with what Golden State would receive in this three-team trade.

What the Warriors would receive

In this trade, the Warriors are receiving a few players that could help them win now. But it will cost them.

Golden State would receive Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers, as well as T.J. Warren. Turner can space the floor tremendously, while also being a premier shot-blocker in the league.

He isn’t the best rebounder, but I do think the Warriors would be okay with that. Warren can score at any level and would provide a good third option on this offense.

Myles Turner’s contract is set for $17 million a year for three years, which is not a bad contract for the production he provides. T.J. Warren’s contract is $11 million a year for two years.

The third player they would be receiving is Garry Harris from the Denver Nuggets. Harris Is a 6’4” shooting guard that can be very helpful to the bench scoring for this unit.

The only downside of Harris is his contract. Gary Harris is scheduled to make $19 million for two more years, and as of late he has not looked worth that amount of money. However, he is a solid player.

What the Indiana Pacers would receive

The Indiana Pacers are the second team included in this trade. The Pacers were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs last year by the Miami Heat.

After losing to the Heat, rumors surfaced that Victor Oladipo wanted out of Indiana. If that rumor is true, this trade would Jerami Grant his wish. That’s a play on words that you will understand why shortly.

The Pacers would receive Andrew Wiggins from the Warriors in this trade. It gives the Pacers an opportunity to still have a consistent scorer after dealing Oladipo and Turner. Andrew Wiggins’s contract isn’t the greatest at nearly $30 million, but I think they would be okay with it.

The reason they would be okay with? Wel the Warriors would also send the Pacers their second overall pick in this year’s draft. This gives the Pacers the chance to start their rebuild off strong, instead of losing Victor in free agency and getting nothing in return.

But in order for this trade to work financially, they need a sign and trade partner. Jerami Grant is the perfect candidate for that. The Pacers would sign and trade Jeremi from Denver for around $14 million on a one year deal.

This deal still gives the Pacers $13 million in cap space to work with during free agency. It’s not much but it’s a good start to a rebuild for sure.

What the Nuggets would receive

The Denver Nuggets would get arguably the best player in this trade in Victor Oladipo. It would be a one-year rental, but adding him could be the piece they need to finally make the finals. Winning a championship could potentially sway Victor to resign. Victor Oladipo is currently on a one year deal for $22 million.

The Nuggets would also receive another player from Indiana. Doug McDermott would be the perfect player off of the bench for their team. He can shoot and brings veteran leadership to a young team. McDermott is currently on a one year deal worth $7 million, so the trade would not be too risky for them.

The last piece they would receive is Golden States 2021 first-round pick from the Timberwolves. This pick currently has a lot of value and could even be a lottery pick next season.

The Nuggets would be left with $5 million in cap space. However, after the expiring contracts this year, they would gain much more space.

This trade is one that will help every team but in different ways. For Golden State, it would give them the pieces to help them get back to the top.
