Why would the Warriors draft him?

The Golden State Warriors would be a great suitor for the young big man from Memphis. With the current depth they have in the frontcourt, Precious could come in and be an immediate impact on a championship-caliber team.

The Warriors currently have the second overall pick in the draft. However, taking Precious Achiuwa that high probably won’t happen, but they could trade back in the draft. Trading back in the draft will help them also receive more assets.

If the Warriors were to trade back with a team, they could probably take Precious Achiuwa in the late lottery area. Swapping picks with a late lottery team would be an excellent idea for the Dubs.

The Warriors could maybe swap with a New York Knicks team, who is dying to get a top pick. The Knicks have the eighth pick in the draft and could send a young player over with the pick swap. At eighth, the Warriors could take Precious comfortably.

Achiuwa can be an impact on the bench or even start depending on his development. At 6’9″ with a 7’2″ wingspan, he can pay the switch everything defense that Steve Kerr loves. Precious can also run the floor well with players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. He also is not a player that needs the ball a lot to be a great player.
