4. Detroit Pistons
Derrick Rose revitalized his career in Minnesota and hasn’t looked back ever since. He was a borderline Sixth Man of the Year candidate last season and can still provide production for a playoff contender.
Right now, Rose is set to mentor Killian Hayes as a backup guard in Detroit. He has seemed to embrace this role – but I think everyone would rather see the former MVP get one more crack at winning a title with Golden State.
Last season, Rose averaged 18.1 points and 5.6 assists on near 50 percent shooting. He is still a threat to score around the rim and has developed a respectable mid-range game. Most notably, Rose has leadership capabilities and can efficiently run an NBA offense.
It might hurt to give up a first round pick for Rose – but, if he lives up to his full potential as the leader of the second unit, this deal works out for both sides.
