The 2020-21 NBA season is off to a tough start for the Golden State Warriors, but don’t give up on this team just yet.

The first two games of the Golden State Warriors season has been rough. But, for anybody who has been following, we already knew this would be the case.

From the moment Klay Thompson became sidelined for the season – we knew the Warriors would stumble out of the gates. The absence of Thompson, plus an injury to Draymond Green, left the Warriors with a roster of inexperienced players to begin the year.

A majority of the Dubs’ rotation is brand new this year, while Stephen Curry himself hasn’t played in more than two NBA games since last November. With a rushed training camp and preseason, it’s no surprise the Warriors looked rusty to start the year.

Plus, we have to consider the competition they have faced already. The Brooklyn Nets have stormed their way to a 2-0 record, becoming the first team since Kobe Bryant’s 2009 Los Angeles Lakers to win their first two games by 20+ points each.

Then, the Warriors tackled the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas night. With the reigning MVP and an All-Star in Khris Middleton lighting them up, it really shouldn’t spur any overreaction to see the Dubs take a loss here.

The Warriors have begun the season shooting 20-of-78 (26 percent) from the 3-point line. Kelly Oubre Jr. is an absurd 0-for-11 while Andrew Wiggins and Stephen Curry have combined for a 6-of-30 effort from behind the arch. It would a miracle if the Dubs continued to shoot this poorly as a collective.

This team is going through some massive growing pains and it just so happens they have been welcomed back to the league by two of the heaviest hitting squads. With Chicago next on their schedule, Stephen Curry has made it clear they need a win in a bad way.

Hopefully, James Wiseman can be a core reason for their potential victory. Wiseman has looked magnificent in his debut, posting 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks against Milwaukee. Steve Kerr has stated that Wiseman will be receiving a bump in minutes soon.

The Warriors have been hit in the face to begin the season. However, I would wait until February or March before we make any final conclusions on this team.
