This has been a wild start to the season for the Golden State Warriors – but after a rough two-game stretch, the team is in good shape.

The Golden State Warriors took a shot to the face to open up the 2020-21 NBA season. We knew there would be growing pains with a fresh lineup and some key injuries but consecutive blowouts were not what anybody had planned.

Golden State was rocked on opening night by Brooklyn then manhandled on Christmas against the Bucks. Had it not been for a miracle game-winner in Chicago from Damion Lee, fans might have been pushing the panic button on this season only three games in.

Instead, Lee saved the day while Stephen Curry poured in 37 points over the Bulls. Then, Andrew Wiggins erupted for 27 points in Detroit and Kelly Oubre Jr. FINALLY hit a shot outside of the paint. Oh, and Curry? He scored 32 points in the victory over the Pistons as well.

For a team that was on the brink of destruction a week ago, a 2-2 start to the season isn’t so bad. The Warriors have plenty of room to grow but heading back home for two games against the Portland Trail Blazers could be worse.

Curry is starting to shake off the rust and look like his former MVP self. Meanwhile, James Wiseman is quickly emerging as a Rookie of the Year favorite with averages of 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks through four games.

We are hopeful that the last game was a pivotal moment for Wiggins and Oubre – who have both struggled early on this season. If they find their confidence and begin scoring at a decent rate, the Dubs can take another step towards fighting for playoff position.

This journey is only beginning for the Dubs and there’s sure to be more bumps in the road. But, so far, we can’t complain about a 2-2 record. With Draymond Green’s return on the horizon, this team is in good shape.
