Golden State Warriors reasons for success: Stephen Curry’s aggression

Draymond Green coming back has helped free up Stephen Curry, but it’s been Curry’s aggression that’s really made his game pop. Just two games ago, Curry put up an insane 62 points. In that game, he shot a career-high 19 free throws.

For one of the all-time free-throw shooting greats to get that many attempts is rare. He typically either doesn’t the calls or settles for three-pointers, which, given that he’s also the best shooter to ever grace the hardwood, who can blame him.

Curry put up 62 in the team’s second game against the Blazers and followed it up with 23 in the first half against the Kings. Over the last five games though, Curry has averaged 37 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists.

He’s taken full command of the offense, putting up over 22 shots per game and nearing 13 triples per game. Racing towards his third MVP, Curry needs to keep these numbers up throughout the remainder of the season if the team wants any shot at a playoff berth.

Curry is the life of the offense, and when he goes off, so does the team. These last few games the Warriors have won because of Curry’s involvement and aggression.
