Warriors takeaways from James Harden trade: Didn’t give everything they have

The Nets mortgaged their future for this season.

For them, it was the right move. With Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant leading the team, they were one star away from creating the league’s best team. They went out and did just that and are now title favorites because of it.

While some of the older Warriors’ teams were elite, the Nets may have the most firepower of all time, although I’d still take the Green-Curry-Thompson-Durant-Iguodala lineup. That said, if you have that opportunity, you take it.

The Warriors had the opportunity.

While they’re playing well with Curry and Green leading the way and are clearly in place to snag a playoff spot right now, they shouldn’t have given away all their future assets for a chip that doesn’t immediately make them the best team in the league.

Thankfully, they didn’t and let the Nets, who had the chance to that, entertain the offer.

Overall, in my opinion, everyone side won that trade, and even if they weren’t involved, the Warriors did too.
