Golden State Warriors: Lottery Pick

Perhaps the most obvious benefit would be landing back in the NBA Draft Lottery. The only thing that made last season worth it was gaining the No. 2 overall pick and selecting James Wiseman. One more high-lottery pick could give the Warriors another young building block for the future.

The upcoming draft is stacked with quality players. The consensus No. 1 pick, Cade Cunnigham, is a stunning playmaker with elite offensive potential as a lanky wing player. Others, like Jalen Suggs and Evan Mobly, have immense potential to become stars in the near future.

Having a chance to draft one of these players would be huge. However, the Warriors would also have the freedom to trade this pick for a solidified star. This, combined with Minnesota’s 2021 First Round pick that they acquired in the Andrew Wiggins’ trade, would give the Dubs enough assets to swing for just about any star in the league.

Targets range from Myles Turner and Bradley Beal to Giannis Antetokounmpo if the Milwaukee Bucks fail to keep him happy. Securing a lottery pick not only gives the Dubs a chance to build for themselves – but a key asset to trade for something bigger.
