The longshot

This feels like the best win-now deal for the Warriors. Initially trading Iguodala away in a deal that allowed them to add the $17.2 million trade exception to their arsenal, the Warriors could bring him back.

This deal especially makes sense with the way Miami is playing.

Currently out of the playoff race, the Heat have clearly struggled as they were one of the teams that were forced to play both in October and then start a new season in December. Adding young talent here would make sense for them.

For the Warriors, Kendrick Nunn and Iguodala are both players they’ve had in their system. Nunn has exploded on to the scene since playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors. Not used much in Miami anymore, Nunn’s scoring and playing time has dipped since a season ago.

Iguodala’s veteran presence and knowledge of the culture would play an impactful role in the team’s success, and Nunn’s playmaking would aid Stephen Curry, who typically has to be the star of the game for Golden State to win.

The Heat would get a 25-year-old, up-and-coming guard to fit in their rotation, both benefiting in the short- and long-term future. This feels like a win-win deal.
