Golden State Warriors’ breakout players: Draymond Green

The former Defensive Player of the year isn’t ‘breaking out’ in the traditional sense. However, he is awakening from an offensive slump that has seen him post the worst scoring numbers of his career.

Green did something he doesn’t normally do the other night – dunk the ball. This flash of athleticism had social media buzzing, as Green hinted he is getting his mojo back after the game.

Aside from the dunk, Green posted 11 points on 3-of -5 shooting. Which, is far from impressive. But… it is his season-high for scoring and only the third time he reached double-digits this year.

Green has never made his money off being a scorer. Yet, the rest of the floor opens up when he’s able to put additional pressure on the defense. Green looks like he’s getting his legs back after nearly two years of being sidelined. This is a great sign for the Warriors moving forward.

If Green is able to attack the basket occasionally, or even step out behind the 3-point line and knock a few down, the ceiling for this team goes up exponentially – as does Green’s career longevity.
