Golden State Warriors’ goals: Consistent shooting

Consistency has been an issue for the Golden State Warriors this season. This isn’t a major surprise, as many of the players joining the roster this offseason hadn’t yet proven to be consistent contributors. This was always going to be an uphill battle for the Warriors.

The Warriors have been night and day from the 3-point line. They’re shooting the 13th best percentage from the 3-point line on the seventh most attempts per game. Sometimes, they leave the floor scorching (mostly due to Stephen Curry), and other times, they can’t hit a shot to save their lives.

Golden State holds a 7-2 record when shooting above 40 percent from the 3-point line and a 2-7 record when hitting below the 35 percent threshold. This type of trend rings true for any team in the league – obviously, you win games when you shoot better from the field.

However, the Dubs are simply more inconsistent than many other teams. This is in large part to players like Kelly Oubre, Eric Paschall and Brad Wanamaker all having occasional games where they are abysmal from the 3-point line. Cleaning this up and reaching a more consistent mark from deep will help the team a ton.
